Faith, Force, and Foresight: Trump DC Force Stops School Shooting Before It Even Began

When the Trump DC force steps in, trouble doesn’t stand a chance. News broke this week that ATF agents and Metro Transit Police uncovered a juvenile plotting violence against a school in Washington, D.C. After serving a warrant, officers discovered seven firearms and illegal ammo. The juvenile was arrested before any bloodshed occurred (Daily Wire, NY Post).

Finally—An Administration That Acts

This is exactly what Americans want from their leaders: decisive action before innocent lives are lost. The Trump DC force didn’t waste time with red tape or “sensitivity training.” They identified a threat, went in, and removed it. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that the minor posed a clear risk to himself and to others, which made the response necessary (NY Post).

As a Catholic, I pray for this troubled young person, who seems to be far from God’s path. But I thank God that the system worked and kids weren’t left defenseless in their classrooms. We could have had another tragedy with more dead children had President Trump not made the decision to step up  and do what leadership in the nation’s capital failed to do. You may not like him personally. His policy positions might not be what you think is right for the country. But it’s hard to deny moves like this produce results.

Faith and Foresight Work Together

First Lady Melania Trump spoke after the incident, reminding Americans that these warning signs often show up online before a tragedy. She encouraged parents, teachers, and neighbors to stay alert—and she’s right. Prayer remains essential, but prayer without vigilance is presumption. Faith calls us to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means law enforcement with a backbone. The Trump DC force delivered exactly that (Daily Wire).

God does not expect us to pray and do nothing. On the contrary, we pray, then we act. And, as Catholics, we ought to be the ones leading the charge when it comes to protecting the innocent. That doesn’t mean the creation of more gun control laws. These clearly don’t work. The nation’s capital has some of the most stringent gun control laws on the books, and yet, it’s a super violent city.

Maybe, just maybe, that’s because bad guys don’t buy their guns from authorized firearm dealers and undergo background checks? Sure, some of these twisted individuals slip through the cracks, but most never enter that process to begin with.

We need to address the real problem, which is two fold: mental illness and spiritual deadness.

Potential shooters need quality mental health treatment (not just stuffed with pills) along with spiritual guidance from the Church. That’s h0w you reduce the number of shootings in our schools. You stop them before they happen.

No Apologies for Saving Lives

Of course, critics already whine about “militarization.” Spare me. Liberals scream about “thoughts and prayers” being useless, but when real action prevents carnage, they clutch their pearls over too much law enforcement. Which one do they want? Because I know what I want—living children, safe classrooms, and a government that refuses to bow to political correctness when lives hang in the balance.

Seven guns are now off the streets. A plot collapsed before it ever began. And for once, America saw faith, common sense, and real leadership converge in one decisive moment.
